Formula Used:-

  • Volume of a cylinder = πr²h

Answer:-

First we need to find the height of the cylinder

Given: Volume of cylinder = 9420 ft³ and diameter (breadth) = 20 ft

As the diameter = 20 ft, Radius = (Diameter)/2

=> Radius = 10 ft

Putting the values in the formula,

Volume of a cylinder = πr²h

=> 9420 ft³ = 3.14 * (10 ft)² * h

=> 9420 ft³ = 3.14 * 100 ft² * h

=> 3000 ft³ = 100 ft² * h

=> 30 ft = h

Given: Height of ladder = Height of cylinder (water tank)

=> Height of ladder = 30 ft

Ans. 30 ft => Option A

Other important formulae :-

  • CSA of cylinder = 2πrh
  • TSA of cylinder = 2πr(r + h)
