As per my reading , gravitational force exerted because of dent that a body creates in the space time fabric - I amy be extremely wrong, but imagine a sheet of cloth strchted and hold to balls with different sizes the dent that the heavier ball creates , pulls the lighter ball, albiet all this is happening because of earth's gravity. but similar phenomenon could be imagined with heavy objects in the space time fabric. especially since gravitation is directly proportional to the product of masses and inversely to the square of distance between the objects.
