Answer:

What are facts about polar bears?

The polar bear is the world's largest predator found on land. As it can hunt consistently only from sea ice, the polar bear spends much of the year on the frozen sea.

The polar bear is classified as a vulnerable species. The U.S. Geological Survey predicts two-thirds of the world's polar bears will disappear by 2050, based on moderate projections for the shrinking of summer sea ice caused by global warming.

A mother polar bear gives birth every 3 years but normally only has 2 cubs. The cubs weigh less thnan 2 pounds when they are born and to protect them the mother can hide them between the toes of her front paws, but only in the first years of their life.

Polar bears have different names by which they are known such as Nanook, sea bear and the name that scientists use, Thacartos-Maritimus. A polar bear's family would be called Urisade.

They are really good at swimming.

They can live from 25-30 years long. The oldest polar bear that ever lived was 41 years old. They have a great sense of smell, they can smell food from km/ miles away.

Polar bears do not have white fur: they have clear hollow hairs and the light reflects off them and makes the polar bear look white.

When hunters are hunting for them in the snow they cover their black nose with their paws so that they can't see them.

Native people would kill them for their fur, meat, & for medicine.

Their ears are small to keep them from losing the heat and their feet carry and balance out their weight so it prevents them from sinking into the snow. They stick to the snow and ice rarely going to the sea to sneak up on the seals they do this because they can then get their food easily and won't go hungry.

they use there thick white fur to stay warm
