In the poem For Anne Gregory by WB Keats, a young man talks in this poem about why a person falls in love. It is for the person's physical attribute, that is to say, outward physical appearance, and according to him their simple human character isn't valued. It is not possible to love one for oneself. That can be done only by God. The poet speaks to the young Gregory in this poem and tells her that her hair is the same color as honey. As it falls, the poet thinks of its beauty as astonishing. Her hair is so stunning that everyone likes her. In this Gregory answers the poet that man only loves her for her outward beauty, although this outward appearance can still be changed. The poet concludes that from time immemorial it is true that man can not easily judge a woman other than her beauty. It says that, even though she wants to do so, she never can be ugly inside or outside.
Explanation:
- In this poem, the wisdom impart by the old religiou man was that he had quoted a text, wherein it is only God who can love a person for himself irrespective of his/her appearance and other characters and attributes.
- But people are affected by a person's appearance and other physical features; I believe that God's love for his creation is limitless. Yet people have an unbiased, disbelieved affection towards their children like the love of God, and no disappointment of appearance is affected by it.
