The slope of the graph would not be parallel to the time axis as with unit change of time, the speed is not constant. If the speed is increasing uniformly with unit change in time, then the slope of the graph will go upwards. But, if the speed is uniformly decreasing then, the slope of the graph will go down towards the time axis. However, if ds/dt is not constant (i.e. change in speed is not uniform) then the slope will be non-linear.
