hello

here \: is \: your \: answer \:

Society would go back to ancient times in terms of human rights.

Genocide and slavery would become a thing. War would become very common and we would have killed all humans by now because of nuclear weapons. The UN was created for this very reason and human rights only began to really flourish after WW2. Human rights has evolved faster in the period between WW2 and 2018 than it has between 1000 AD and the 18th century. And it’s all thanks to technology. We needed human rights to curb the destructive power of our tech. Those in power suddenly had a good incentive (nukes) to evolve human rights.

Instead of working a 9–5, you would be enslaved and working 13 hour days with little pay, depending on your job. Abuse in the work place would be rampant and no institution would be there to stop it. The lower the status of your job is, the harsher your life will be. Working class will be brutal. Office work would be extremely long and abuse would be normal. Doctors, lawyers, engineers etc would have it much better but it would still be worse than it is today.

The government would be putting chemicals in your water and food without your knowledge. The justice system would be terrible. People would be murdered and “disappeared” by the government for being “political opponents”. There would be no free speech, no freedom of any sort. Everything would be controlled and censored.

Assuming no nukes existed, war would happen quite often. Bigger countries would be pillaging and invading smaller countries like they have in real life, and they’d do it with even more brutality. No Geneva convention, no rules of engagement, lots of genocide. Soldiers would be canon fodder on the battlefield, they’d be given lots of drugs and sent on suicide missions by generals that don’t care. A draft would be implemented, like with Vietnam, and people who go AWOL/break the rules would be executed by their commanders. War would become just another fact of life.

Everyone would be poorer than they are now and the wealth hoarded by the elite would be even greater than it is today.

Torture and death would become a fact of life. Executions would be displayed to keep everyone in line. Torture would be used as a form of intimidation. They would hang corpses and heads on the street.

Life would suck for you if you were a normal person. The elite would have it good but even they would be worse off in such a society than they are now. They would be constantly paranoid about getting poisoned or killed by another elite. Instead of facing political shame, they and their family would be facing literal death and torture if an enemy elite successfully attacked them. It would be like the drug lords or ancient kings who did terrible things to each other.
