Since the car starts from rest
u=0km/h
v=20km/h
t=30min = 30/60 =1/2
So we know that
a=v-u/t
=20-0/1/2 = 20/1/2 = 10km/hr^2..

Hope it helps

pranjal82: the given answer in the book is 5 km
pranjal82: and moreover we have to find the distance
AnushkaSharma7: The distance is not visible..
pranjal82: the distance is not visible because we have to find it
pranjal82: the question does not say to find the acceleration instead it says to find the distance
AnushkaSharma7: I found acceleration so u can easily find distance
AnushkaSharma7: By using the second equation of motion
AnushkaSharma7: s=1/2at^2 + ut
