If if the sequence of colon and ileum in the digestive tract of human being is reverse then there will be defect in the digestion and absorption of the food.

Explanation:

  • The colon mainly helps in the the absorption of the water and has no specific role in digestion. On the other hand ileum meaning the helps in the absorption of the food through two finger like extension known as villi.
  • If the sequence is reversed then there will be heavy amount of absorption of the water which will stop certain amount of absorption of nutrients from the ileum. In addition to this there will be defect in the absorption of the food due to this process.
