What would be the consequences if there is no meiosis in organisms that reproduce sexually?

Explanation:

Where there are no meiosis means no gamete formation then no fertilization. On absence of meiosis cells will end up to divide my mitosis ie to increase in numbers but will not qualify to be gamete then sexual reproduction will stop.

Meiosis is required for the production of gametes, haploid cells for s e xual reproduction (eggs and sperm). Without meiosis, there would be no sexual reproduction. Most macroscopic life is diploid, meaning we have two copies of each type of chromosome (one from each parent).
