Hemoglobin in the blood, carries oxygen from the lungs to the body parts. In case of reduction in the amount of hemoglobin, the oxygen carrying capacity of the blood decreases. This leads to oxygen deficiency in the body. It may lead to death or to heart failure (due to increased functioning of heart to pump more blood) breathing problems, tiredness and lack of energy.
