The wavefront of light of candle shows the spreading of light.

  • The wavefront is described by the Huygen's Principle.
  • The principle tells about the spreading of light in the forward direction. The every point on the wavefront will shows it own wavelets.
  • The each new wavelet is in the form of tangents, therefore the light travels in the straight line.
  • If we see, the example of candle the light travel is straight line.
  • So where you put the candle the book should be in forward direction of the candle so that you can read it
