n² - 1 is divisible by 8,

So (n² - 1) is a multiple of 8.

n²-1= 8k

n² = 8k + 1

n =(8k+1)^(1/2)

Where k is an integer

If n if an integer and range of n is given, then find n by putting different values of k for which (8k+1) is a perfect square
