What would cause rupee to depreciat against us dollar kther things being equal?

The major factor behind the depreciation of INR on US khetr is :
1.Crude oil nd gold import.
2.Very small manufacturing base.

Untill nd unless India is able to slove above two problems,it is impossible to lower trade deficit which would in turn to take the rupee lower.
