salt water paramecium is adapted to live there which means that the salt water pond and fluids in paramecium are isotonic.

When we will transfer it to freshwater lake the concentration of fluid inside paramecium is more. Hence endosmosis will occur and water will move into the paramecium's body causing it to burst and die.
