if an animal cell is put in a highly concentrated sugar solution then there will be plasmolysis of the cell.

Explanation:

  • This is a phenomenon which occurs due to Osmosis. Osmosis is the movement of water molecules from the region of of lower concentration to the region of higher concentration.
  • As a result of this the water moves from the animal cell to the higher concentrated sugar solution and as a result of this there is lack of water in the animal cell due to which there is plasmolysis of the cell
