what would happen if dry apricots are left for sometime in pure water and later transferred to sugar solution

firstly, the dry apricots will become turgid by taking in water by osmosis (endosmosis)
later when transferred to sugar solution, the apricots will turn flaccid by losing water into the solution (exosmosis)
