What would happen if earth stopped rotating for a moment​?and why?

There will be no day and night, because the day and night depends on the rotation of earth. As the earth turn toward the sun, that area will have morning/day and the other side night/evening. If the earth stops rotating then one area or place will have continuous day and the other side night.

If the earth stopped rotating for a moment, In just one minute, the oceans would have the momentum to splash  kilometers inland. The wind would then turn these massive waves into a giant storm.
