What would happen if excess of CO2 is passed through lime water?

Carbon dioxide passed into limewater gives a milky solution. This is due to the insoluble suspension of calcium carbonate formed: Ca(OH)2(aq) + CO2(g) → CaCO3(s) + H2O(l) ... The milkiness disappears since calcium bicarbonate is water-soluble.

here is ur answer....

if excess of lime water is passed through lime water caco3. it turns into milky white...

CaOH2 + co2+ caco3+H20.. it also form bi carbonate...
