what would happen if india was not a democracy? could we have stayed together as a single Nation

India staying as a single unified nation depends on the peoples attitude and that of those who rule.Democracy or Non-Democracy will not necessarily guarantee a single unified nation.Right now the Indian constitution guarantees "Right to Equality" as one of the 6 fundamental rights,however people can choose whether to exercise this right or not and as for now India is a single unified country now.Even if India was a non-democratic country,given the people and the leader have the same attitude about equality,India would still be a single unified republic.So as I said,people's attitude matters and not whether the country being democratic or non democratic.

if India is not a democratic country there India is not called be a nation there were no circumstances between people's of different languages. no India is not called a single nation
