what would happen if instead of KOH solution , sodium hydroxide solution is hung in the conical flask during the experiment?

As sodium hydroxide and potassium hydroxide were exactly interchangeable .

So in my opinion there will be no effect on the experiment of respiration in germinating seeds

The carbon dioxide will not be absorbed and as a result we would get an inaccurate observation.
