Plasma membrane is the semi permeable and selectively permeable Outer boundary wall of a cell.

It is semipermeable because it can allow only few selective substance to pass through itself.

Functions of plasma membrane

1.It protect material of a cell

2.Transport of substance inside or outside of cells

If plasma membrane gets ruptured

If plasma membrane gets ruptured then the material lose a protector and the cell can't transport the substance inside or outside. All the subtances can enter inside the cell as their is no plasma membrane therefore the cell will get destroyed.
