The Sun's immense mass draws all the other planets in the solar system toward it.... If the sun would disappear, Earth and the other planets would retain their forward motion ,effectively flying off into outer space in a straight line .No one has any idea what would happen if that occurred..

hope it helps

What If our sun disappeared suddenly?

There is no such possibility but in case, if our sun disappeared suddenly, our Earth which we call a Spaceship will tend to lost in space as there will be no gravitational pull of sun to hold the Earth in its orbit. The earth will swung in to the deep space like a ball that detached from its string.

There will be a complete halt in photosynthesis. Small plants will die within a week where large trees may survive for some decades because of their large food storage system. As plants die, animals that depend on them will die except the scavengers which can feed on the dead for certain period. After all the scavengers are also animals and they share the earth and its temperature. Hence they will also die of the food scarcity and decreasing temperature of earth as there is no sun to warm up the earth every day.

Now, it is the time for humans to go extinct from the beloved planet earth. As soon as the Sun disappeared the earth will start its cooling process gradually. The earth will touch the zero degrees Celsius with in a weak and will reach the -100 degree Celsius in next few days. Human society will experience an unimaginable chaos. Half of the population will die as soon as the food and water ran out. Remaining will die by decreasing temperature. There will be no place for the "Survival of the fittest" theory this time.

There is another way for the end apart from the above things after the sun disappears. The planet will be released from its orbit and move fast towards an unknown destination. It may crash with any other planets, or with any large space objects with in weeks or it may get closer to any wandering black holes in the space and get swallowed by them.

Have you found one thing in common from the above reading. Death is inevitable by any mean if the sun disappears suddenly.
