What would happen if the Earth’s axis was perpendicular to its orbital plane and not  inclined at an angle of 66½°?

The earth's axis is inclined at angle of 66½° due to many geographical reasons and benefits. If the the axis becomes perpendicular,the whole geographical characteristics of our planet will be changed drastically. The day-night cycle will be hampered. And the normal weather cycle will be also hampered.

Answer:Equator, an imaginary line divides the earth perpendicularly into two equal halves. If the earth's axis was not perpendicular to its orbital plane, the earth would have not been able to make revolutions around the sun as the orbital plane helps the earth to revolve. Without sun, the earth would be too cold to sustain life. Though sun's ultraviolent radiations are harmful for the earth but it is beneficial too for sustaining life. Also UV rays coming from the towards the earth is protected by the ozone layer.

If it was not inclined at an angle of 661/2 degree the earth could have only made rotations on it's own axis but not the revolutions which it makes around the sun.
