With only one religion, every people on Earth would follow it.
Means there would be no ISIS, Al Qaeda or any other group who is fighting to establish a particular religion.
India would suddenly be the richest country in the world. I know it sounds weird, but it would happen due to this
Over time small differences will arise in the way different groups of people practiced the religion that would in turn lead to the creation of defacto sects and depending on the religion’s tenets this could easily lead to religious war. All large religions Christianity, Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam have seen the emergence of religious sects that sometimes has led to violence. The possibility of violence is greater the more a religion insists that it it is the one and only legitimate religion.
There is a saying that summarizes this idea well (not sure of the exact quote or source) : “if you have one religion you get religious tyranny, if you have two religions you get religious war but if you have many religions then you get religious freedom”.
