If humans would have had their heart under their own control, then the life of humans would not be longer that a day. This is because when they'd go to sleep or do any other activity which would require more level of concentration then they wouldn't be able to think of the other action which would lead to their heart stop beating and then stop pumping blood throughout the body. Which would finally lead to death.
