THE SPERMS CONTAINS ACROSOMES WHICH ARE ATTACHED ON THE HEAD OF SPERM .

ACROSOMES CONTAINS DIGESTIVE ENZYMES CALLED HYDROLYTIC ENZYMES THESE ENZYMES HELPS SPERMS TO PENETRATE INTO THE EGG.

SO IF ACROSOMES ARE NIT PRESENT ON SPERM'S HEAD IT WILL LOSE ITS ABILITY TO PENETRATE THE EGG AS A RESULF NO FERTILIZATION OCCURS

Fertilization process gets affected if the spermatozoa lack acrosome.

Explanation:

  • In fertilization process, the fusion of male gamete with the female gamete is the initial step. The male gamete called sperm has unique structure called acrosome at the top of its head.
  • The acrosome helps the sperm in its entry into the egg by rupturing the egg’s membrane and facilitates the release of its nucleus into the nucleus of the eggs and thus fertilization occurs and zygote is formed.
  • When the spermatozoa lacks acrosome, the entire process described will not take place and fertilization cannot take place.
