Imagine a place where there is no dam to control water level.
1)- You will quickly realise that if ever tectonic plates shuffle or scatter in other spots, it will lead to movement in larger water bodies causing them to form huge water waves also known as tsunamis .
2)- If we do not have dams then more than half of the world would have been filled with water. Isn’t this a shocking fact?

If we didn't have dams it will result in wastage of river water, deficiency in supply of irrigation water and it also results in flooding.
Explanation:
- Dams play an important role when it comes to hydroelectricity and they act as a reservoir of river water.
- Dams are the main source of water when it comes to dry areas and also have the potential to save the area or even the country from food shortages.
- however, it also has some disadvantages like erosion of coastal deltas and leads to the extinction of fish and other aquatic species.
