The tongue contains many sensory organs that help us differentiate tastes and smell.

If one were to ut it off we would lose our ability to swallow our food and it would become very hard.

Also, we would lose our ability to speak, since the tongue aids us to converse.

Things that would happen if we don’t have a tongue:

  • Tongue has one of main senses of our body i.e. taste, if we don’t have tongue we won’t be able to taste food.
  • We won’t be able to chew our food properly swallowing would be difficult as well.
  • Lack of saliva, which helps in hydrating our mouth, if not present then gums will get dry and teeth will fall off.
  • Last but not the least we will suffer from speech deprivation.
