HYPO MEANS LESS OR LOW THEREFORE HYPOTONIC HAS LESS OR LOW CONCENTRATION OF SOLUTE SO IT WILL HAVE HIGH CONCENTRATION OF SOLVENT. THE CONCENTRATION OF SOLVENT IN THE CELL WILL COMPARATIVELY LOW. THIS LETS THE MOVEMENT OF SOLVENT FROM THE REGION OF ITS HIGHER CONCENTRATION TO YHE REGION OF ITS HIGHER CONCENTRATION.THUS THE SOLVENT WILL MOVE INTO THE CELL AND MAKE IT TURGID OR SWELL.
