What would happen if we replaced the wire in a thick copper wire​

If the wire inside the fuse (i.e. Tungsten Or Nickrome) is replaced with thick Copper (Cu) wire, it will melt inside and the Glass may break. Because Copper cannot withstand the high electric current.
