What would happen if zinc and iron are used to make jewelry instead of gold and silver?

Zinc and iron are very reactive metals when they exposed to the atmosphere they react with some atmospheric components and lose shining,they will corrode but gold and silver are least reactive they won't react with atmospheric oxygen and don't lost their lustrous property early therefore they are used to make jewellery which are always shining.
