Answer:

Golgi apparatus in cell is responsible for packaging of various biomolecules formed by the Endoplasmic Reticulum.

If a cell happens to loose its Golgi Apparatus, It would no longer be able to pack, process and transport the materials formed by the ER.

Moreover, Golgi apparatus is responsible for Glycosylation (modification of proteins, such that, they form glycoproteins) and Glycosidation ( formation of complex carbohydrates, Glycosides).

So, no Glycoproteins and Glycosides for the cell with no Golgi apparatus.

Glycoproteins helps in cell to cell recognition and glycosides or glycolipids, facilitates Active transport into the plasma membrane. Golgi bodies forms such vital components of the plasma membrane.

Now, another problem, Cells lacking Golgi bodies would accumulate all cellular debris/waste, and would litter the cytoplasm. This which is a function of of the Suicidal Bags, are absent since, they, are the very product of the Mighty Golgi Bodies.

Lysosome, have Hydrolases, a group of enzymes which have Nucleases(for digesting Nucleic acids), proteases (for protein digestion), Lipases( for fat/ lipid digestion) and Amylases( for carbohydrate digestion).

Now here, our this precious buddy helps in exocytosis, of the cell waste, helps, in digesting food for the cells, etc.

In short,

Cells lacking Golgi Apparatus will not be able to,

  • Pack, Modify and Transport products of the ER
  • Perform Glycosidation and Glycosylation, for the membrane functions
  • would lack lysosomes, which helps in digestion of foreign particles and clearing cytoplasm.

KUDOS!
