For Indians , it may be easy to like a scenario where Robert Clive tasted a defeat and the Indian kings gradually sensed the designs of East India Company and did not allow to grow them. Then it would be happier for some others to assume that Mughal empire grew stronger once Clive is defeated and gradually more Islamization happened and India would have become a Muslim country. For some others it was simply a matter of time and if not Clive, another shrewder governor would have succeeded and the same history would have happened.

When some thing happened was not to have happened where is the shortcoming for most imaginative scenarios!
