If mitochondrion present in RBC it would lack most of its primary functional and structural elements.
As a result the redundant mitochondria would be spotted and successfully destroyed via mitophagy and most of oxygen carried would be utilised for the cellular respiration that occurs in mitochondria.

The cellular respiration in RBC's won't be possible.
They may die after some time.
Mitochondria are found in both plants and animals cells.
It is a 2 walled structure.
The outer mitochondrial membrane is smooth.
The inner mitochondrial is folded into finger like projections. These projections are known as cristae.
The space within mitochondria is known as mitochondrial chamber.
The space filling jell like proteinaceous substance is its matrix.
Mitochondria has its own genetic material.
It is known as semi autonomous organelle.
