If the Earth stopped spinning suddenly, the atmosphere would still be in motion with the Earth's original 1100 mile per hour rotation speed at the equator. All of the land masses would be scoured clean of anything not attached to bedrock.

if the Earth did not revolve around the sun the half of the earth will suffer from night and cold. and remaining part will suffer from day with hot climate....And this is very bad for whole earth... the earth will finished... That's why it's important to revolve earth around the sun....
