After us dropping nukes on japan, ww2 defeat of axis powers, it became apparent to everybody that what can happen if one goes to war immediately or in near future with U.S. or other major powers. What UN actually did is it protected or preserved the power in few hands. It left the world with few options but to follow these powers in every aspect. Purpose of doing this or not allowing others to develop nukes and others mass destructive weopens was to maintain the peece and stop the wars which actually have not happened. It only increased hegemony of few.
