What would I have done for my nation
Nation, our second mother. It is our home, our homeland. It is where we belong. Since our birth, the love for our Nation has been inculcated into us. Yes, we no wonder love it to the most. But now the question is, what is that we do for something that we love so much?
Taking an example and inspiration from all the freedom fighters of India like Rani Laxmi Bai, Mahatma Gandhi, Tatia Tope, Mangal Pandey, Subash Chandra Bose and countless others, we strive today to fight for our nation. To protect it and free it. But in this time and era, what are we fighting against?
Now, we fight against all the malice, corruption, and the binds that have kept pulling our nation down, even with so much progress. We fight against the selfishness of individual corruptors that manipulate and take advantage of the naivete of the citizen. How do we fight it? Awareness. Awareness is the key. Getting yourself informed enough about what is happening in and around and informing others will help the public stay informed and updated, which helps them make a better choice, which later affects the choices of the country.
74 years since our country gained independence, but our minds are still shackled with chains of 'white supremacy'. We oftentimes fail to acknowledge and appreciate the beauty in our culture. What we can do apart from just loving our nation, is we can be proud of it. Accept its heritage in all forms and try to show others how beautiful it really is.
India is one of the most diverse countries in the whole world. Along with diversity, comes differences. We need to also go beyond this stratum of differences and join in as one to take care and take our nation forward.
