What would life on a long sea voyage be like for a ship's boy?What things would be good and what would be bad or difficult?

a voyage for a ship boy would most likely be difficult to bare considering all the reasons he could be damaged such as fighting getting thrown off the ship or worse plus he could get sick or catch diseases and wind up dead or he could just starve because they don't have restaurants on the garden LOL. hope it helps
