With Lunchclub, we have created a way to network over video both locally and globally. Previously, I have built networks over the

It is impossible for society to lose communication completely, as communication is, basically, the only thing we ever do. So the real problem is whether we want to have better or worse communication. As communication is, most basically, information—→ idea and the most basic skills of communication are describing/explaining and asking/checking, it is possible to understand that a better society will encourage an acknowledgement of that system and will try to encourage those basic skills.Consequently, a country like North Korea will simply inhibit information (no internet access etc). A country like the US can not inhibit information as much as North Korea but will try to inhibit it in certain areas (see the current trial of Julian Assange).

Also, freer countries will usually be droning on and on about how much they love freedom while invading other countries (number of countries attacked by North Korea since WW2 : 1. Number of countries attacked by the US since WW2: 24.)

Freer countries will usually inhibit communication through an almost complete lack of emphasis on basic skills (people can receive 15 years of formal education without ever being encouraged to practice asking and checking.)

All improvement in society in the past has been a result of better communication. We might want to consider encouraging better communication for a better society in the future. Of course, of you have a society built on the “bad magic” communication of advertising and marketing, where everything is reduced to surface aspects only, then you may be disinclined to promote it. Which is pretty much where we find ourselves at this moment im human history.
