• Walking dream wish fulfilment means that what someone sees and considers to be real but in reality, is not what it looks like and reality is different, it is our wish and subconscious which makes us want to see it in a certain way and then believe it as well.
• In the Chapter "The Third Level" the narrator thought that he went to the Grand Central Station's third level and while talking to his friend who was a psychiatrist, he told him how it was his walking dream wish fulfilment.
• Here, for the narrator, the third level was a wish as his grandfather had some postcards about the same and when the narrator was a child he was excited about it all and he wanted to travel there once.

• People feel this unrealistic situation is realistic because of their insecurities and fear, it is a way of escapism. One's subconscious stores things which one's conscious doesn't know about and accordingly one travels from reality to a fantasy world as it is the fantasy world that one feels is a reality but certainly, it is not.
