I was almost robbed of my purse at a Dollar Tree, where I was shopping for floral supplies. I was looking intently at something and almost ran into two young girls and I profusely apologized.

My attention got back to shopping and I began reading the back of a package, forgetting I’d ambled away from my cart. My purse was in the child’s seat. As I snapped back out of my fog, those same two young girls began what I felt was almost a programmed formation. One placed herself several feet in front of my cart, while the other was off to my right side. They were going to snatch my purse.

I came to, put my hand back on the cart and one hand on my purse. They disbanded, but I just had to do this. I wheeled up to one girl, ran into her hard, profusely apologized again, but gave her the biggest grin I could muster, along with a brisk wave of my hand.
