The farmer will get less yield of grains if he/she does not use fertilizers in the farmland.

Crops need extra support to grow as it is influenced by low fertility in soil, attack from pests and unavailability of water. To overcome these problems fertilizers are used in the farms. Fertilizer is very important for agriculture as it increases the productivity of the crops. Fertilizers are chemicals and prepared in industries unike manures.

Reasons:

  • Fertilizers are a rich source of nutrients like phosphorus, nitrogen and potassium.
  • Fertilizers could be easily absorbed by the plants in comparison to manures.
  • Fertilizers could increase the physical condition of the soil. It would help in proper growth of crops.
  • If fertilizers are provided in proper quantity to the crops, it would increase their productivity
