People talk about equality but I feel Females are discriminated.
Especially in India, girls are not respected and are less educated.
Boys are considered superior.
People think that boys will do jobs and girls will only take care of the family.
Thus, girls are discriminated more.
But for me, both are equal. Doesn't matter whether I are a girl or a boy, u can do anything and can complete ur dreams:)

I'm not sure if men are aware of this discrimination or the intensity of the discrimination, but I'd like to state it anyway.
I can say I have been on either sides of looks, good and bad, and difference one sees is HUGE.
Generally the source of discrimination is men itself (Largely) and society in general.
The whole "Look good" industry, makes up, clothes etc is based on this, to bridge the gap between Bad/Average to good looks.
I sometimes fell COMPELLED to look good, because the kind of treatment good looking women vs plain women receive is just so obvious and strong. You can see it everywhere, workplace, at the mall or any place that involves interacting with others. It is so strong.
Average or if i may, ugly girls are practically invisible!
And on a daily basis seeing such discrimination saddens me deeply.
People are shallow, girls are valued at face value (Quite literally) and then comes their personality and other values.
Especially, when it comes to dating, most men are willing to put up with anything as long as she looks like a million bucks.
When it comes to dating, all we hear is, guys getting "Friend zoned" or dumped or girls having a million options to choose from, but all this is applicable only to the pretty girls. And everybody wants just them!!
Fat/ugly girls are just invisible and they get friend zoned too!
They don't have a bunch of guys hitting on them and then they DON'T get to select the best, they just look and sigh and wish to be there.
The same girls, lose weight, apply some make up and ka-boom! the same guy who friend zoned her is all over her.
You are attractive, the tone in which people talk to you itself varies!
You are attractive, you are generally favored and get loads of freebies!
You are attractive, nobody is rude, everybody wants to know you better!
Oh the benefits are many! Let's not get there.
So the fat ugly girl aspires to be pretty, its a need, a desire of every "Not so pretty" girl because we see the way the pretty girls are treated. We see the obvious discrimination, and we want to be on the other happy-good side.
You may say, this kind of discrimination is applicable for men as well. But, I'll tell you, the intensity is very low.
Men are expected to look average, women, in general don't desire for a Good looking hunk, a guy with average looks and stability who loves her well will do.
Looks is a genetic lottery, based on favoring or non favoring hormones, it's harder to change this than getting a well paid job.
ALL IN ONE
Women are expected to do it all:
(Applicable to Indians)
A good homemaker
A good wife/ daughter in law/ Mother
Have a decent career (If not great, as compared to your husband)
Look good (Not get obese and lose hair, maintain)
Be polite
Don't get mad and create a scene (Be Lady like woman!)
