The differences between Acids and Bases are:-
- Acids are sour in taste where as bases are bitter in taste.
- Acids turn the color of blue litmus paper to red and bases turn the color of red litmus paper to blue.
- All acids dissolve in water but all bases do not dissolve in water. The bases which dissolve in water are called alkalines.
- Acids produce H+ ions when dissolved in water and bases produce OH- ions when dissolved in water.
- Acids do not change the color of turmeric whereas bases change the color of turmeric to red.
- Acids turn the China rose solution into dark pink color whereas bases turn the China rose solution into green color.
- Acids turn phenophthaline solution into colorless and bases change its color to pink.
