   Broader meaning of democracy is that people are all equal in the name of law.  People have freedom of speech.  They have right to vote. No one is a slave of another person.

  The government makes policies for the welfare of people.  People have the final control.  The press and media look after the people and their welfare.  Government is looked upon from many angles and followed closely by the political parties, people, press, judicial system etc.  Roles and responsibilities of people, leaders, representatives and officials are all written down and are to be followed.

   Freedom and justice are imparted to the people.  Everyone is accountable.
