What were the criticisms raised against communist system:

➡That is, when ANY philosophy becomes an ideology, becomes the all-purpose answer. becomes something to be applied without regard to individuals and circumstances, it becomes toxic.

Thus, Chinese communism under Mao became an ideology that resulted in the deaths of millions. Ditto Soviet communism under Stalin. By the same token, runaway capitalism brought us the Great Depression, while killed a lot fewer people but still produced a miserable decade for most Americans. And it also brought us the Great Recession.

And likewise, while the moderate Islam of, say, Indonesia--the world's most populous Muslim countr--is stodgy, puritanical and sexist, it isn't a nightmare ideology. That honor belongs to Wahhabism, the belief system of ISIS.

What works is moderate, mixed systems, such as the capitalist/socialist mix of America from the 1930s to around 1970, where the talented and the ambitious could get rich (as long as they were also male and white, admittedly), but the poor and industious could earn enough to support a small family modestly.

Chinese communism is running towards the middle now, from the other end, with more and more privatization and individualism. I wouldn't want to live under it--still very repressive politically--but it's night and day from the days of the Red Guard.

So what's most wrong with communism isn't what rabid capitalists say is wrong with it; what's most wrong with communism is what's most wrong with any ideology taken to extremes, when it's taken to extremes.

Hope it helps you:)
