Wheat and Gram belong to rabi crops.

Rabi Crops : The crops that are sown in the winter season are called Rabi crops. Rabi crops are sown at the beginning of winter season (October/November) and harvested in March - April. Rabi crops do not depends upon monsoon rains for growth. Wheat, Gram, pea mustard and linseed are rabi crops.

Kharif Crops : The crops that are sown in the rainy season are called kharif crops. Kharif crops are sown at beginning of monsoon season (June/July) and they are harvested at the end of monsoon season (September/October). kharif crops depends upon monsoon rainfall for growth. Rice, maize, soybean, groundnut and cotton etc, are kharif crop.
