well if the wheat dough is left like that and starts to emit foul smell, then it means that the formation of fungi and reproduction of yeast taken place. and cause the dough has fungi then the dough can't be used as its unfit for eating or for any use. and because of the fungi and the yeast the dough emits foul smell
