5x-1=(12+8x)÷5
5(5x-1)=12+8x
25x-5=12+8x
25x-8x=12+5

when 1 is subtracted from 5 times the number
=> 5x-1
the result is divided by 3 more than twice the number
3 more than twice the number is 2x+3
=>(5x-1)/(2x+3)
we get 4/5
=> (5x-1)/ (2x+3) = 4 /5
by cross multiplication we get
5(5x-1) = 4(2x+3)
=> 25x-5 = 8x+12
=> 17x= 17
=> x= 1
