when 10 g of sulphur with 10 g of O2 gives 20 g SO2
similarly 20 g of sulphur will bind with 20 g O2
and give 40 g of SO2
by law of multiple proportion
when to deferent elements binds they always
make compound of fixed ratio by their mass
